Divine! Missed the potted crab at L. Mulligan Grocer the other evening, though I was in West Cork this weekend and did have crab there (and you’re right, that West Cork crab is wonderful…)

That picture is so enticing… I love that little black dish! Do you recall where its from? I love crab but don’t eat enough of it – I am sure that’s a common complaint!

I went through the same confusion after moving here. Whenever I drive around Collon people wave…at first I thought I’d left my gas cap off or that I had a flat tire. And I loooove being able to pop in to see my friends without having to make an appointment. In LA, that would be UNHEARD of. Country livin’ definitely has its benefits!

Just discovered your website and how I laugh. I’m from Cork city myself and married a Kerry farmer. Whilst it may not present as much of a culture shock as yours, the country v city divide is just as evident! I’m American through and through and was actually taught to “dredge”. I even tilt my bowls away from me and eat dessert with a spoon and fork (fork being the knife). When I went to Scotland it didn’t strike me as odd to eat that way because I thought that’s how one ate. Growing up, I was the odd one out around friends because of it.
